General Notes: Husband - John Milliken Mabon

He was a well-known farmer of West Wheatfield township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. He obtained his education in the common schools there. In his younger manhood he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad Company a number of years. In 1888 he bought the Samuel McKee farm of fifty acres, and devoted himself to its cultivation. Then he bought forty acres of the old Mabon farm, his property then comprised about one hundred acres, where he was extensively engaged in dairying and the raising of small fruits. In winter he also followed lumbering. Mr. Mabon improved his farm greatly, building a new house and barn and making numerous changes for the better in his home surroundings. He was one of the organizers of the Gamble Mills Telephone Company, and was a director of that company.
