Mt. Pleasant Twp, Washington Co, PA

His father came to Washington County from eastern Pennsylvania, at a very early date, established a home on the border, assisted in bringing civilization to what was then a wild section, and after a long and useful life, passed away.

He was born in eastern Pennsylvania, and was a child when the family came to Washington County. He became a man of substance and spent his entire life in agricultural pursuits.
He and his wife were parents of ten children, eight of whom reached maturity.
