General Notes: Husband - Rev. G. W. Sloan


He was born and reared in Clarion County, Pennsylvania, and completed his education in Jefferson College, at Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, where he prepared for the ministry. In 1858 he went to Washington state, and for a number of years had charge of different congregations in that Territory.

He was the pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Steilacoom City, near Tacoma, Washington state.


General Notes: Wife - Rebecca Cokain


She was a representative of a prominent pioneer family of Venango County, Pennsylvania.
Her death occurred on the Indian Reservation at Puyallup, Washington, near Tacoma, where her husband was then serving as pastor.
