General Notes: Husband - Abraham D. Newcomer


He was two years of age when his parents moved to Georges township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, where his after life was spent, excepting three years in South Union. He was educated in the public schools and spent his life engaged in agriculture. He was a Republican in politics, and on September 25, 1901, was appointed postmaster of Newcomer postoffice, serving continuously for over a decade. In 1883 he was elected collector of taxes and served as judge of election. He was a director of the New Haven Coal and Coke Company of Mason County, West Virginia, and interested as a stockholder in the Short Line Fuel Coal & Coke Company of Marion and Morrison counties, West Virginia. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church.
