General Notes: Husband - Samuel Coleman

He was born on the old family homestead in Conemaugh township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, where he grew to manhood and became a farmer, following the same vocation throughout his life. He owned a tract of 240 acres where he made his home, and in 1856 built a large brick house on his property; in 1879 he had a frame barn built.
He was a faithful member of the United Presbyterian Church, and his political views were those of the Republican party, but he was never an office seeker.
