Collins-
Ray Verne Collins, 109 Marshall St., Essexville died Jan. 4 at 1:12 a.m. after a long illness. He was born March 7, 1893 in Flynn, Canada. He has been a resident of Bay County for 44 years, living in Essexville for the past 35 years. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Lusher Collins and 4 children; Mrs. James (Patsy) Badour of Essexville, Willis Collins from Kawkawlin and Mrs. Samuel (Lydia) Finn and Verne Collins of Bay City. 8 grandchildren. Two brothers and one sister: Trum Collins at Rhodes, Mich.; Dewey Collins at National City, Mich. and Mrs. Ives Woods of Williamson, Mich. He is a retired carpenter. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. from the Penzien & Vallender Funeral Home. Rev. Harry Harfst will officiate with burial in Floral Gardens.

Ray Verne Collins, 109 Marshall St., Essexville, 72-year-old carpenter, died today after a long illness. Born March 7, 1893, in Flynn, Canada, he had lived in Bay County for 44 years, in Essexville for the past 35 years. Survivors include: his widow, Elizabeth Lusher Collins; four children, Mrs. James Badour, Essexville, Willis Collins, Kawkawlin, Mrs. Samuel Finn and Verne Collins, Bay City; eight grandchildren; two brothers, and a sister. Funeral services will be Thursday.

Mrs. Collins, age 77 years, passed away June 17, 1972 at 8:15 p.m. at General Hospital following a short illness. She had formerly resided at 109 Marshall St. in Essexville. She was born in Dayton, Pa. on August 31, 1894. Her husband Roy V. Collins preceded her in death in 1966. She is survived by two sons Willis Collins of Kawkawlin and Vurn Collins of West Branch, two daughters Mrs. Sam (Lydia) Finn, of Bay City, and Mrs. James (Patsy) Badour of Essexville, ten grandchildren, and three brothers Frank Lusher and Lester Lusher both of Croswell, Michigan and Oren Lusher of Essexville. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and the Ladies of G.A.R. Memorial cards for the Moose Heart will be available. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Penzien Funeral Home. The Rev. Harry Harfst will officiate with interment at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Penzien Funeral Home after 7:00 p.m. Monday. Memorial services by Women of the Moose will be Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m.
