Bonnie Lou Colwell
Bonnie Lou Colwell, 61, of Knox, died Wednesday morning, Aug. 26, 1998, at her residence following a brief illness.
Born March 6, 1937, in Wentlings Corners, Knox RD, she was a daughter of Roland and Margaret Porter Exley.
She was married Sept. 9, 1958, to Sam E. Colwell, who survives.
Mrs. Colwell and her husband owned and operated Sportsman's Speedway in Knox since it was built in 1972.
She first was employed at Knox Glass Co. in Knox and later worked at Charles Tool in Clarion.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Diane L. Colwell, and her fiance, Charles Klingler, of Emlenton; two sons and their wives, Daniel E. and Shelly Colwell and Russell E. and Gena M. Colwell, all of Knox; five grandsons, Jamie Colwell, Cody Colwell, Chris Klingler, Chad Klingler and Kyle Colwell; and one granddaughter, Amanda Colwell.
She also is survived by a brother, Thomas Exley of Knox; two sisters, Rosella Clover of Knox and Jane Haley of Alum Rock; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Roland Exley Jr.; and a sister, Maxine Clover.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon Friday in the William N. Rupert Mortuary in Knox.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Raymond Faulds officiating.
Interment will be in Knox Union Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, Clarion Chapter, or the Clarion Visiting Nurses.
