General Notes: Husband - Jonas Condit

He came to Washington County, Pennsylvania, when about twenty-five years of age. He was a man of fine physique and strong moral character. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Upper and Lower Ten-Mile, and in 1805 was elected an elder. He and his family assisted very materially with the sacred music, and members of their family led the choir exclusively for more than fifty years beginning in 1843. Mr. Condit was a justice of the peace many years by appointment of the Governor of Pennsylvania.
