General Notes: Husband - John Hershey

He inherited the family homestead, to which he added by industry and shrewd management until he owned five hundred acres in Penn township, besides a farm in Wilkins and property in the East End. He gave his whole attention to stock-raising; but also owned a half interest in a first-class roller flouring-mill in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania.
