General Notes: Husband - James McGuire

He was born and reared on the farm, receiving his education in the common school and academy, and at the age of eighteen he left school to engage in business. After three years spent in clerking he turned his attention to agriculture and purchased a farm, which was a part of the tract originally bought by his grandfather. He owned 120 acres, including some mineral lands.
He was a prominent Democrat, and a member of the Catholic church.
