General Notes: Husband - Peter A. Affantranger


He was engaged in the dry goods business at Meadville, Crawford County, PA, for more than forty years, he being the oldest merchant of that city at the time of his decease. He and his wife kept house sixty-one years in the same block in Meadville. They were members of the Episcopal Church and he was very active in all public matters. He was a member of the Uniform Rank of Knights of Pythias and in politics was a Democrat. His father was a native of Switzerland and he had a half-brother, who died while with Napoleon during his campaign in the Alps.
