General Notes: Husband - Francis Padden Cook


He attended the schools of Washington township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, and a preparatory school in Beverly, New Jersey, from which he entered Washington and Jefferson college in the autumn of 1887, remaining there until the spring of 1889. In the autumn of 1890 Mr. Cook entered the dental department of the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in the class of 1892. In the autumn of that year he located in Cleveland, Ohio, where he practiced his profession until the declaration of war between America and Spain, when he enlisted in Troop G, First Ohio Volunteer Cavalry, as a private; he was mustered out at Columbus, Ohio, as acting first sergeant. He was at Chickamauga, Lakeland, Florida, and Huntsville, Alabama. He was a Presbyterian in religious belief, and a Republican in politics.
