General Notes: Husband - John Hays


He remained in Chartiers township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, until 1860, when he came to Canonsburg.
He was first a Whig, afterward a Republican, and served many years as justice of the peace. He was a member and elder of the Presbyterian Church at Miller's Run, and at Canonsburg, and was a trustee of Jefferson College.
