General Notes: Husband - Wade Hampton

He was edu­cated in the common schools, at Millersville Normal School, and at the Western Univer­sity. He then entered the oil business as re­finer in his father's refinery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, later becoming a dealer in lubricating oils. Following this he was associated in different capacities with the Standard Oil Company. A few years were spent in the brokerage busi­ness in Oil City. He later was general auditor of the Standard Oil Company of New Jersey, with offices in New York, and resided at Hast­ings-on-the-Hudson.
