General Notes: Husband - Capt. Charles W. Bingham


He was an officer in the army in the War of 1812. He was born in Adams County, Pennsylvania, remaining there during his boyhood and early manhood.

He was a merchant and hotel-proprietor at Emmitsburg, Maryland; was justice of the peace a number of years, and was elected democratic representative to the state legislature of Maryland. He afterward moved to Smithsburg, Maryland, where he died.
