General Notes: Husband - Lt. James Patterson

He was a member of the committee of safety for Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in 1775, a body chosen from the several townships to concert measures to defeat the machinations of the tories, and to resist the unjust and tyrannical edicts of the British Parliament.
He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. The last severe conflict he participated in was the battle of Princeton, after which he returned home, having in charge the prisoners taken by the American forces in that engagement.
He served several sessions in the Provincial Assembly of Pennsylvania.

He and his wife Margaret had nine children.
