General Notes: Husband - Samuel J. McBride


Civil War: He enlisted in Company H, 78th Regt., Pennsylvania Volunteers, on its original organization at Butler, Pennsylvania, and was mustered into service of the United States on the 17th of September, 1861, for a term of three years as Sargeant. He received his commission as 2nd Lieut. November 25, 1862. On February 6, 1863, he was commissioned as 1st Lieut. by command of Col. Sirwell. He assumed command of Company H, 78th Regt., October 24, 1864. Discharged November 4, 1864.
