General Notes: Husband - Anthony Courson

He was born in Centre County, Pennsylvania, and came to Deer-field, Warren County, with his family of seven children in 1825. He settled on four hundred acres of land fronting on the Allegheny River. Here he kept a tavern for many years, affording the weary raftsman returning on foot from Pittsburgh a shelter. He was a lumberman and farmer.
He lost his wife in 1842, and after disposing of his farm he moved west, where he died. His remains were brought east and interred in the cemetery in Tidioute.
