General Notes: Husband - David Hitchings

Beginning at the age of two years his home was in Bradford township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, and in the schools of Shiloh obtained a good practical education. Since starting out in life for himself he followed agricultural pursuits, and met with a fair degree of success in his undertakings. In May, 1863, he purchased from Isaac Lines a farm of 106 acres, which he placed under a high state of cultivation and improved with good and substantial buildings.
In politics, he supported the principles of the Democratic party, and served his fellow citizens in the capacity of school director, supervisor of his township, and assessor for five years.
