General Notes: Husband - William Skinner

---

He was a merchant at Dry Run, Pennsylvania, until he was elected sheriff of Franklin County. He served one term, 1853-56. In politics he was a Democrat. He resided at Chambersburg until his death, except during a few years when he lived on a farm that he owned, south of the town on the Waynesboro road. For three years he was engaged in the dry-goods and notion business with his two sons.
