General Notes: Husband - James H. Crawford

He was a soldier in the Civil War, was captured, and died in the Confederate prison at Florence, South Carolina.

GPHAV, 966 has the information regarding this man and his brother reversed from the original source: James H. died in Andersonville prison, and John A. also was a prisoner with him at Andersonville, but was removed to the prison at Florence, North Carolina, died there. His removal was caused by an attack of the Federals to capture Andersonville prison.

Corp. Jas. H. Crawford, e. Sept. 24, 1861; captured at Plymouth, N. C., April 20, 1864; died at Andersonville, Ga., Sept. 7, 1864; grave 8,117. [HBC 1883, 109] But the same source gives the exact same info for his brother, John A. Crawford. Bates has the same.
