General Notes: Husband - Theodore La Vett Putnam

He received a good education in the public schools, after which, for a period of four years, he taught school during the winters and engaged in farming in the summer. He subsequently learned the wagonmaker's trade, buying a part of the Akeley farm, where he built a house and shop, and continued working at his trade for many years. He also owned other lands in the same township. He served at least four terms as justice of the peace and was assessor twelve years, county auditor one term, county commissioner one term, and school director for a long period.
At one time he was a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge; a member of the A. O. U. W.; and entertained very liberal religious views.
