Leetsdale, Allegheny Co, PA - a merchant

He was reared on the farm and educated in the Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. In 1876 he bought out a small store in Leetsdale, which he conducted successfully, and added to and improved in every way. It became a general store. He and his wife were members of the Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the R. A., and was a republican.

He and his wife had nine children.
