He emigrated from the County Down, Ireland, and settled in Kishacoquillas Valley, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. He sold his farm there to Rev. James Johnston. Robert Cresswell doubtless moved to what is now Huntingdon County with his sons, as his remains rest in the Ewing grave-yard in Barree township.
