General Notes: Husband - Rev. Emanuel Cronenwett, D.D., Litt.D.

After completing his schooling at Woodville, Ohio, he attended Capital University, at Columbus, Ohio, from which he was graduated in 1861. He then took up the study of theology at that institution and was ordained in 1863. Reverend Cronenwett was located at Carrollton, Ohio, for a number of years and was a circuit preacher, in charge of seven parishes. In 1870 he went to Wooster, Ohio, where he remained four years, and from there he was transferred to Delaware, Ohio. He was a resident of Butler, Pennsylvania, beginning in 1877 and was actively connected with church work in that city until his retirement in 1920 as active pastor, when he became pastor emeritus of Saint Mark's. After that time he ministered to the spiritual needs of the older members of the congregation with German services at stated intervals. He was instrumental in the extensive growth of the Lutheran faith in that section of the state and devoted his entire life to this work. Reverend Cronenwett was the author of many Lutheran Church hymns, which were published in book form and widely used.
He was connected with Capital University at Columbus, Ohio, as chairman of the board of directors, and also served in the offices of the Lutheran Church Senate for many years.
