General Notes: Husband - Samuel Crooks


He was a native of County Derry, Ireland, and came to Massachusetts about 1801, where he found employment in a paper mill. From there he came to Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and thence to Middlesex township, Butler County, where he engaged in farming. About 1827 he moved to the Rev. Francis' farm, and afterwards purchased 100 acres of land near Glade Mills, from Oliver David, where he later died.
He was a supporter of the Democratic party, and filled the office of school director for a number of years.
