General Notes: Husband - Julius Culbertson

Fort Worth, Tarrant Co, TX

At his father's death, before the Civil war, his father owned one hundred and fifty slaves and left an estate valued at $150,000. The sons Julius and Levi resided on the plantation until breaking out of the war, when they entered the army. Levi died in the army. The loss of the slaves and deterioration in land ruined Julius, who moved to Maysville, Kentucky, in 1869, and engaged in various pursuits. In 1890, he sold out and moved to Texas and engaged in wagon manufacturing.
