He became a physician and practised in Shippensburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Prior to May 3, 1803, he removed to Franklinton (later Columbus), Ohio. He was one of the associate justices of the first court of common pleas, organized 1803, in Franklin County, Ohio.
