Carrollton, Carroll Co, IA

He enlisted in August, 1862, in Co. G., 20th Iowa Inf., and served three years. From March to July, 1864, was prisoner at Camp Ford, near Tyler, Texas. In 1869, he removed from Scott County, to Carrol County, Iowa, where he engaged in farming for two years. In December, 1870, he was elected Auditor of Carroll County, and served in that office three years. He was then elected County Treasurer, and served two years. In 1876, he engaged in the banking business and became President of the Bank of Carroll. In 1886-7 he represented Carroll County in the Legislature. He was an Odd Fellow and member of G. A. R. (1892).
