General Notes: Husband - Joseph Cummins

He was educated at the common schools and at Jacksonville Academy. He resided in the house where he was born and the tract he owned was surveyed in 1786 and contained some three hundred acres. On this farm was an Indian encampment, and Indian relics such as arrow-heads, pipes, pottery, &c., were very often found. There were also several Indian graves on his property.
