General Notes: Husband - Frank Loyten Riddle

He attended the township schools and assisted his father upon the farm until ready to take up work of his own choice. When fifteen years old he came to Franklin, PA, and after three years' employment at the confectioner's business engaged in that line on his own account, also starting a restaurant. In 1911 he opened the Orpheum Hotel and restaurant at No. 1273 Liberty Street, owning it in partnership with his brother and cousin, under the firm name of Riddle Brothers. The company was Riddle Brothers & Elliott for a time. It was the leading establishment of the kind in the city, commanding a large and growing patronage, excellent food and service to be found there. The hotel had twelve rooms.
He took an active interest in sports, particularly in baseball, in which he was one of the leading spirits locally. He served as a director of the well known Franklin baseball team. Fraternally he was well known as a member of the I. O. O. F. and W. O. W. [CAB, 678]
