General Notes: Husband - Charles Dale

The Dale family is of English stock originally, and has long borne a coat-of-arms in which a distinguishing device is an arm embowed, holding a sword in bend, the crest a sheaf, said to have been granted an ancestor for valor against the Saracens.

He was part of the army sent by William, Prince of Orange, from England to Ireland to quell a threatened rebellion in 1690. After cessation of hostilities, he remained in Ireland, married a young woman of Armagh, in County Monaghan, and settled there.
