General Notes: Husband - William Dale

He and his wife were born in eastern Pennsylvania and were married there and had two children born to them, before removing to the western part of the state. They moved to Mercer County about 1823, and located in what is now Liberty township, where the remainder of their days were spent, the mother dying first, aged about sixty-five years, while the father survived until he was seventy-five years old. He was a blacksmith by trade and also followed farming to some extent. There were nine children in the family. Politically, he was a supporter of the principles of the old Whig party. He held numerous local official positions and his judgment was looked up to among his neighbors. Both he and his good wife were consistent members of the Presbyterian church.
