General Notes: Husband - Jacob Dambach

He was born in Germany in 1827. [HBC 1927, 1088]

He was in his seventh year when his parents settled in Butler County, Pennsylvania. He spent his boyhood days on the farm, enjoying only such limited advantages as fell to the lot of the average pioneer boy. His educational advantages were confined to a few weeks' training in the little subscription school, and he taught himself how to read by studying the New Testament.
He became a successful business man, was the founder of the bank in Evans City, originally Jacob Dambach & Son, but later The Citizens Bank. He was largely interested in the lumber business with his son at Evans City, and was one of the substantial citizens of the community. He was a member of Oak Grove Lutheran church. Politically, he was a Republican, but took no active interest in public affairs.

He had three children with his first wife, only one was still living in 1895. Also with his second wife: three children, one still living in 1895.

General Notes: Wife - Elizabeth Gross

She was a native of Germany, and came with her parents to Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.
