General Notes: Husband - John Daugherty


John Daugherty, Sr., was his parents' oldest son, and was brought to Mercer County, PA, by his parents when he was quite young. He was reared there, and afterward moved to Butler County, where he remained ten years, and then returned to Mercer County and located on a homestead where he lived until his death. He was a soldier in the War of 1812, and earned the commission of first lieutenant. He was one of the early constables of Pine Township for many years, and in 1845 was elected justice of the peace, and served until his death.
