General Notes: Husband - George Davidson

At the age of eight years, his parents moved to Beaver, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, and there he obtained his primary education; he afterwards attended college in West Virginia from 1877 to 1880. Owing to ill-health, he spent several years in traveling through the western states, and, upon his return to Beaver County, became deputy prothonotary under Dan H. Stone. On leaving this position, he entered the National Bank of New Brighton, as cashier. His popularity is shown by the fact that he served several terms as treasurer of New Brighton, and was manager of the clearing house of the associated banks of Beaver County, which association he helped to form. [BOBBC, 157]

He was privately tutored, and then became a student at Bethany College, West Virginia, where he was graduated in the class of 1880. During the greater part of his business career he was closely identified with the banking business, for many years as cashier of the Old National Bank of New Brighton, then as vice-president, and, eventually, as president, succeeding in the latter office C. C. Townsend. His presidency of the First National Bank of Beaver Falls witnessed a remarkable growth of business and prestige of that institution. Mr. Davidson was a director of the Bank of Pittsburgh, director of the Standard Steel Gauge Company, director of the Beaver Clay Manufacturing Company, director and vice-president of the Davidson Ore and Mining Company of Buffalo, New York, and was one of the founders and the treasurer of the Davidson-Connellsville Coal and Coke Company, with many additional business interests of consequence.
Politically he was a Republican, and his religious affiliations were with the Protestant Episcopal Church. He was a member of the Tamaqua Club of Beaver Falls. [PAH, 23]
