General Notes: Husband - Joshua Frederick Davis

attended the district schools and followed farming and stock-raising throughout his years of manhood. At the time of the Civil war he showed his patriotism by serving in Company A, One Hundred and Sixty-ninth Pennsylvania Regiment. He was honorably discharged at Harrisburg in 1863.
Politically, Mr. Davis was a "free coinage Democrat" and was not afraid to argue the question with any person. He held the offices of assessor, inspector, tax-collector, supervisor and judge of elections in his township and also served as constable. He was a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
