General Notes: Husband - Walter Davis

He emigrated to America when a young man and first landed at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a weaver and worked at his trade in Philadelphia for several years, then he located at Sugar Grove, near Jamestown, New York, and there engaged in farming for some years. He then removed to Pennsylvania, purchasing a farm four miles from Jamestown, Mercer County, where he spent the remainder of his days. He was a member of the Covenanter church from his boyhood days, having united with that denomination in Ireland. His earlier votes were cast as a supporter of the Whig party, but later he became a Republican. He was benevolent, charitable, and always ready to assist the needy. During the earlier period of his life he was an elder in the Covenanter church, later uniting with the United Presbyterians at Adamsville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, in which he was also an elder.

General Notes: Wife - Jane McMaster

She came to America with her parents in a sailing ship in 1811. When the family first left Ireland their ship was captured by the English and brought back as a war prize to Great Britain, but later all escaped in another vessel to Baltimore, Maryland.
