General Notes: Husband - George Dawson

His father removed from Fayette County, Pennsylvania, to Kentucky. About 1813 he (George) returned to Fayette County, and settled in Brownsville with his wife and two children, occupying a house on Front Street, later owned by Mrs. Sweitzer. He was the Brownsville agent for a salt company, and became interested in the construction of the National road, being the contractor for the building of the heavy stone-work on the river-side of that road in its approaches to the Monongahela. He was also the owner of large tracts of land in Ohio.
