General Notes: Husband - Demas Lindley

His boyhood and youth were passed under the paternal roof, his education being acquired at the neighboring subscription schools, which in those days were at the best but limited. He wed and they commenced their married life on a farm in Buffalo township, where they remained four years, and then moved to a home in Franklin township, Washington County.
In early years of manhood, he was a Whig but upon the organization of the Republican party he identified himself with that political organization. He was always active in the affairs of the community and for a time served as school director and also as assessor. Both he and wife were faithful members of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Bethel.
