Franklin Twp, Washington Co, PA

He passed his earlier years on the farm, for a time attending the schools of the neigh-borhood, and though he was obliged to leave school at an early age, he continued to spend his leisure time in study. In politics he was a Democrat, taking an active interest in the affairs of his party. He and his family were interested in church work.
