General Notes: Wife - Mary E. McCalister

Her husband died in Ireland, so in 1831 she came to America with her children, and settled at Girty's run, later Millvale, in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, on the same place where her son David later resided. She rented thirty acres of land from William Sample, farmed this and built a home. Here she reared her six children. She died aged seventy-two years, a woman of remarkable courage, a devout Catholic, much beloved and esteemed.
