He attended Philadelphia Textile Institute and Jamestown College before transferring to Colorado State College. The first day there he met Cathryn Alexander, also a transfer student. They were married during christmas vacation in their senior year. Gordon assumed the presidency of Taconic Plastics when he was 33; his wife, as Executive Vice-president, relieves him of many details.
