General Notes: Husband - John Grable McCormick

He was a farmer, and dealt extensively in stock, which he shipped from Chicago. He voted with the Democratic party, but took little part in politics, preferring to spend his time in the cultiva-tion of his farm.

He was reared by his grandmother, his mother having died when he was a lad of six years. He was a life-long resident of Somerset Township, and in 1892 came to Bentleyville and settled on land which his father had purchased in 1880, and upon which his brother, Albert McCormick, had been residing. This farm he subsequently sold in town lots. He then resided in a large frame house which he had built in 1906.
He was a stockholder in the Acme Brewing Company of Bentleyville; was a stockholder and director in the Farmers' and Miners' National Bank, and a stockholder in the Bentleyville National Bank.
