Meadville, Crawford Co, PA

In 1885 he was living in Meadville, Pennsylvania, at the advanced age of ninety-five years, having lived in the county since May, 1794.

He served in the War of 1812, as an Orderly-Sergeant, and he drew a pension for his services. In 1815 and 1818 he built a flour and sawmill, four miles north of Meadville, which he operated for eighteen years; he also engaged in farming. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, in which he was an Elder beginning in 1831.
He and his wife reared twelve children and one died in infancy, seven were residing in Crawford County in 1885.
