General Notes: Husband - Loten A. Dinsmoor
He graduated from Warren High School, Warren, Pennsylvania, in 1887 and then taught school in Pleasant township for several terms, in the meantime preparing himself for college. He entered Yale College, pursued a literary course and was graduated in the class of 1894. After leaving Yale he returned to Warren, where he devoted his time to reading law in the office of Dinsmoor & Peterson. He joined Company I, 16th Reg., Pa. Vol. Inf., in 1895. He took a deep interest in military affairs and was held in the highest regard by his fellow soldiers. He was advanced to corporal and then to sergeant, and was also appointed to the office of company clerk. He went to the front in the war with Spain, and in the many letters sent home he never complained of the hardships at camp. It may be said that he served his country and his generation heroically and in the prime of young manhood and vigor it is particularly sad that he should have been called to his last reward.
