General Notes: Husband - Samuel Haines


He and his wife were reared in central Pennsylvania, where he worked as a common laborer. In 1861 he entered the Union army, defending his country until taken prisoner. He was incarcerated in Libby Prison, where he died, it is supposed from cruel treatment.
