General Notes: Husband - William Harvey Stevenson

For a time he attended the public schools of his native township and those of West Virginia, and when his father died, at which time he was but eight years of age, he commenced to work to support himself. For ten years he lived at Fairview, West Virginia, then returned to Pennsylvania. He was always identified with farming. In 1883 he purchased a farm of fifty-four acres in Hanover township, Beaver County, and lived on that for a period of sixteen years. He then traded with John M. Buchanan, getting in exchange a one hundred and seven acre tract on which he then lived. This tract was in very bad condition when it came into the possession of Mr. Stevenson, but he brought it to a fine state of cultivation, being a general farmer and stock raiser.
