General Notes: Husband - Leman McCarrell

He attended the district schools in Mt. Pleasant Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and later taught school for two winters, in Canton Township, after which he devoted himself to agricultural pursuits, his home having always been on his farm adjacent to the home farm. With the exception of about twenty acres of woodland, the land was all under a fine state of cultivation. The coal was sold and there were two gas wells. Mr. McCarrell eventually turned over his responsibilities to his son, Thomas.
He was identified with the Democratic party all his mature life. He belonged to the Mt. Prospect Presbyterian Church.
