General Notes: Husband - Alexander Seaton


He was born in 1790. [HBC 1895, 1306]
In 1819, he bought a farm in Mercer Township, Butler County, PA, from Alexander Donaghy and resided there. In 1828, he built a grist-mill, which, after having been rebuilt three times, was still in operation in 1883. In later years it was run by his son Abner. He built a saw-mill in 1825. He also built a carding and fulling mill later, which he operated for eight years. He was a resident of Butler County from its organization in 1801. He remained a very active man well into his eighties. [HBC 1883, 398]

He was born in Huntingdon County, PA, in 1790, and came to Butler county with his parents when about ten years old. On attaining his majority he purchased a farm on the line of what is now Mercer and Marion townships, his residence being in the former. He was a millwright and farmer, and erected a saw, grist and cloth mill, which he operated for many years. He was a member of the United Presbyterian church. In politics, he was a Democrat, and held the office of justice of the peace many years.
